This is a work of engobe scraped off. The pattern is applied by freehand. The glaze changes between the scraped off areas and the areas covered with cosmetic mud. The ash used for the ash glaze comes from the ashes of the wood stove at home and the ashes of the pizza oven in Mashiko.
