Most viewed! Ukiyo-e artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi's videos are popular!

Takumi Japan produces and publishes videos on YouTube to introduce people to traditional Japanese crafts.

This article introduces a video about ukiyo-e artist Tsukioka Yoshitoshi that has been particularly popular.

When we think of ukiyo-e artists, the first artists that come to mind are Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, and Kitagawa Utamaro.

If you are not a particular fan of ukiyo-e, you may not be familiar with Tsukioka Yoshitoshi.

He studied under Utagawa Kuniyoshi and was active from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period and is known as the "last ukiyo-e artist".

Takumi Japan handles several works from the ukiyo-e woodblock print studio Takahashi Kobo, which has been in business for more than 160 years, and this is how I came to know about Yoshitoshi.

His works have a storytelling and rawness that will draw you in.

Video introduction to " One Hundred Figures of the Moon" works by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka "

One of Yoshitoshi's masterpieces from his last years is a series of paintings entitled "One Hundred Figures of the Moon" which depict scenes related to the moon.

These works depict the moon, a universal motif that transcends time and country, in a variety of themes.

As the name of the series suggests, this is a series of 100 nishiki-e (brocade pictures).

Novel and delicate composition. The beauty, strangeness and silence of a moonlit night. The contemporary style and unique world view present in the work.

As an amateur, I cannot describe it well, but I am fascinated by its mysterious charm.

This video explaining "One Hundred Figures of the Moon" has been very popular.

We have also produced a video introducing each of the 100 works that are.
