Choosing Traditional Japanese Crafts as Father's Day Gift

Many countries around the world have Father's Day.

In Japan and the U.S., Father's Day is the third week of June, and every year, do you find yourself scratching your head trying to think of a gift that will make him happy? After decades of being your father's child, you are beginning to run out of ideas.

Some of you might think, "I have to prepare a gift for both my father-in-law and my own father-in-law!“

In this article, we have selected three of our favorite Father's Day gifts that are beverage related.

Arita ware sake cups for fathers  who love Japanese sake

If your father is a Japanese sake lover, how about a sake cup made by Shinemon Kiln (Arita ware)?

This is a type of pottery known as "kiln-change," in which the piece has a distinctive color or pattern due to changes caused by the glaze or fire during the firing process.

We have two types: Tenmoku type and Mini type.

There are many different colors and patterns to choose from. If you choose one with a different color and pattern every year, your father can have a collection and you not have to worry about what to choose every year.

Please check out the colors and patterns on the Takumi Japan website.

Kasama ware cup and saucer for the fathers who love coffee

For the father who doesn't drink alcohol but would like coffee, how about a set of cup and saucer by Shigeo Sudo (Kasama Ware)?

Takumi Japan offers two types of cups and saucers: brown and blue. Each piece has a beautiful gradation from black to brown, or from blue to white, and the cups and saucers are decorated with a leaf pattern.

Nambu Ironware Teapot for the father who love tea

Nambu ironware is famous for its iron kettles, but there are also teapots.

The iron material not only keeps the water warm, but also keeps it cold, making it suitable for drinking while transferring boiled water, brewing a pot of tea and enjoying it slowly, or pouring cold tea or sake into it and drinking it little by little.

Since the inside is enameled, the iron will not dissolve but rust, and the inside can be washed.

Please take a look at the five colors available.

Why not present it with a drink as well?

It is also recommended to present sake with a sake cup, coffee with a cup and saucer, or tea with an iron teapot.

We are sure that the time spent using the gift will also remain in your father's heart.

We also offer gift wrapping and greeting card services. Please consider a traditional handmade gift for Father's Day.
