This is a "Jujiro Bowl" finished with lacquer from Kawatsura, Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. It is a bowl with the calm texture of domestic lacquer. It is a representative bowl of Jujiro.
Finishing with "Hana-nuri" , a characteristic of Kawatsura lacquerware, preserves the strength of the lacquer film without damaging it, and gives the finish the gentle luster inherent in lacquer.
