The sake cup is painted in traditional Kutani ware colors, and the inside is gorgeously finished with gold leaf all over. It can be used as a sake cup for celebrations or as a small bowl for appetizers. The name of the pattern, “Mokubei”, is derived from the Aoki Mokubei kiln, which was popular for its literati paintings in the Edo period.
