This is a shino flower pot with iron painting. The unique mogusa clay of Mino ware is generously covered with feldspar glaze. The layers of glaze create a plump softness throughout the piece, while the hard pattern of the burnt oniita iron painting on the base provides a tightening accent to the large piece. The works are slowly fired in an old-style wood-fired kiln over a period of one week, and you can enjoy the varied expressions of each piece.
*Oniita: A mineral containing iron used in iron painting, decorative clay, iron glaze, and other ceramic decorations.This product is packaged in a paulownia box. It takes about two weeks from the time you place your order to the time of shipping.
