Tenryuji celadon was named after the green celadon brought to Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto from the Chinese Empire.
It is fired to a soft and warm color by repeated glazing.
The red cinnabar is reminiscent of pretty petals floating on the surface of the water, and the iron sand pattern is reminiscent of the plants and trees of a robust grassland.
In addition, the iron sand pattern is reminiscent of the grass and trees in the meadow.
Although Shinemon has produced a wide variety of celadon porcelain, Tenryuji celadon is a glaze with a unique atmosphere that maximizes the sense of weight and richness, and is a highly difficult ceramic technique.
The Tenryuji celadon vase is said to have been used by Chinese intellectuals to purify their minds by immersing themselves in the vase.
It is a gem that will free your mind from anxiety if you have one in your living space.
