This is an easy-to-use vessel for dishes as well as fruits and desserts. This piece is formed by pressing a sheet of ceramic clay into a plaster mold (tatara technique). After the white slip is applied, it is fired unglazed, then painted with three colors of clay, and fired again. Layers of colored clay are used to express gradation and texture. It is also an excellent choice as a gift.
