Moon white refers to the whitening of the eastern sky when the moon rises, making it appear brighter. The pale blue ware created during the Song Dynasty is called moon white glaze because it is reminiscent of this moon white, and is also compared to the gem opal. The Shinemon kiln expresses the scenery of the sea by uniquely adding a dark line of blue in this moon white glaze.
